3 Mexicans From Gorma are not exactly from Mexico. This is a band from Verona, Italy. This trio plays Stoner Rock with Southern, Hard Rock and Blues influences. This Trio has released their debut album G.O.R.M.A. at Go Down Records. This album is a bit of a strange one; Among the great Stoner tracks there are also some strange intros and intermezzos. But nevertheless it is a fine album, because the songs are really great.
According to their Facebook page, 3 Mexicans From Gorma is inspired by the following bands: Foo Fighters, Kyuss, Queens Of The Stone Age, Orange Goblin and Fu Manchu.
Beside the Stoner Rock, there are also some Mexican acoustic elements present in their sound. All with all a pretty decent album. Enjoy!
The Three Mexicans from Gorma formed in 2007; every member comes from a different musical experiences.
The new trio south stoner / space rock was created to revive the nostalgics of the 80s and 90s robust, smoked, heavy and hungry sound, remembering the glorious American stoner rock founders.
Their 12 tracks, enclose a comic concept book of pure invention, which will take you to a place forgotten by God, a place forgotten by all, the city of Gorma (acronym of the members of the band).
Gorma is a ghost town, strange and decadent, lost in the Mexican desert, a town reflecting the destruction, greed, madness, cruelty, evil and envy, all wickedness still present in today's world.
The protagonist, called DESOLETED MAN (an old and dirty loner cowboy), after leaving and have forgotten the madness of everyday’slife around him, escapes, and reaches the city Gorma, just by chance, riding his old horse Jekyll.
Closer and closer to evil-land, the old cowboy is captured by a series of events that trap him inside Gorma for eternity ... the significance of the city is nothing but the door to damnation. THE OLD COWBOY MAN, will have to fight against the Gorma’s evil, now surrounded by blood and delirium, trying to earn eternal peace ...
The Mexicans will take on stages a Mexican show and a story made up by a soundtrack inspired by the powerful and massive best pages of Queen Of The Stone Age and Kyuss, using the best experience gathered in previous projects (Spingigonzales - rock, Goro - deathmetal) not only playing, but telling a story like in the best take of Rodriguez.
In October they released their very first self-produced album, edited by GO DOWN RECORDS of Treviso.
